./mentor.sh Platform Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1 By accessing or using the ./mentor.sh platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use our Platform.

1.2 ./mentor.sh reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Definitions

2.1 "Mentee" refers to a user seeking mentorship and guidance through the Platform.

2.2 "Mentor" refers to a user providing professional guidance, advice, and support through the Platform.

2.3 "User" collectively refers to both Mentees and Mentors.

3. User Registration and Accounts

3.1 Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

3.2 Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.

3.3 Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3.4 ./mentor.sh reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Mentors

  • Must provide professional, ethical, and constructive guidance
  • Represent their qualifications and experience accurately
  • Maintain confidentiality of mentee information
  • Respond to mentee communications in a timely manner
  • Adhere to professional standards of conduct

4.2 Mentees

  • Must approach mentorship with genuine intent to learn and grow
  • Respect mentors' time and expertise
  • Provide clear and respectful communication
  • Maintain professional boundaries

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Users retain ownership of their original content and intellectual property.

5.2 By using the Platform, Users grant ./mentor.sh a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute content for platform operations.

5.3 Users may not use the Platform to infringe upon third-party intellectual property rights.

6. Mentorship Interactions

6.1 ./mentor.sh facilitates connections but does not guarantee specific mentorship outcomes.

6.2 Mentorship interactions are solely between Mentors and Mentees.

6.3 ./mentor.sh is not liable for the quality, accuracy, or outcomes of mentorship interactions.

7. Compensation and Pricing

7.1 Mentorship pricing is determined by individual Mentors.

7.2 ./mentor.sh charges a platform fee for each mentorship session.

7.3 Refund policies are at the discretion of individual Mentors, subject to platform guidelines.

7.4 Payment processing is handled through secure third-party payment providers.

8. Communication and Conduct

8.1 Users must communicate professionally and respectfully.

8.2 Prohibited behaviors include:

  • Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Sharing offensive or inappropriate content
  • Engaging in illegal activities
  • Attempting to circumvent platform security

8.3 ./mentor.sh reserves the right to investigate and take action against users violating these standards.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

9.1 User data is collected, stored, and processed according to our Privacy Policy.

9.2 ./mentor.sh implements industry-standard security measures to protect user information.

9.3 Users consent to data processing necessary for platform functionality.

10. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

10.1 Limitation of Liability ./mentor.sh is not liable for:

  • Direct or indirect damages arising from platform use
  • Mentor or Mentee interactions
  • Third-party content or services
  • Lost opportunities or potential earnings

10.2 Maximum liability is limited to the total amount paid for services in the preceding 12 months.

10.3 Indemnification Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ./mentor.sh, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • User's violation of these Terms
  • User's use of the Platform
  • User's content or interactions
  • User's violation of any third-party rights
  • Any claims made by third parties relating to user's actions on the Platform

11. Force Majeure

11.1 ./mentor.sh shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations if such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters or acts of God
  • Pandemic or public health emergencies
  • War, terrorism, or civil unrest
  • Government actions or regulations
  • Network or telecommunications failures
  • Power outages or infrastructure disruptions

11.2 In such events, ./mentor.sh will make reasonable efforts to notify users and resume services as soon as practicable.

12. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)

12.1 Copyright Compliance ./mentor.sh respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law.

12.2 DMCA Notifications Copyright owners or their authorized agents may submit DMCA notifications to our designated copyright agent at: Email: dmca@mentor.sh

12.3 Required Information DMCA notifications must include:

  • Physical/electronic signature of the copyright owner
  • Description of copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • Description of where the alleged infringing material is located
  • Contact information of the complaining party
  • Statement of good faith belief in infringement
  • Statement of accuracy and authorization to act

12.4 Counter Notifications Users may submit counter-notifications if material was removed in error.

13. Export Control Compliance

13.1 Users agree to comply with all applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations, including:

  • Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations

13.2 Users certify they are not located in any country subject to U.S. export controls or trade sanctions.

13.3 Users may not access or use the Platform for any purpose prohibited by U.S. export laws.

14. Miscellaneous

13.1 These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Users and ./mentor.sh.

13.2 If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
