Finally: One-Time Sessions That Actually Match What You Offer

Let's be honest—not every mentoring conversation fits neatly into 60 minutes. Sometimes you need 20 minutes for a quick portfolio review. Other times, a proper system design discussion takes two hours.

That's why we built Custom One-Time Sessions.

The Problem We're Solving

Until now, you've been stuck with standard session lengths that might not match your expertise. A UX designer doing portfolio reviews doesn't need the same format as an engineering manager running leadership workshops.

Now you don't have to force it.

What You Can Do Now

Set your own duration: Anything from 15-minute quick hits to 3-hour deep dives.

Name it what it is: Instead of generic "mentoring session," call it "React Performance Audit" or "Startup Pitch Teardown." Your expertise deserves specificity.

Price it right: The platform calculates pricing based on your hourly rate and chosen duration. No spreadsheet math required.

Offer multiple options: Unlike standard plans (limited to one each), create as many custom sessions as you want. Offer both a 30-minute resume review AND a 2-hour interview prep workshop.

Real Examples From Early Users

We've already seen mentors create sessions like:

  • "Quick Code Review" (30 min) for debugging specific problems
  • "Architecture Deep Dive" (2 hours) for system design discussions
  • "Career Pivot Strategy" (90 min) for major transitions
  • "Startup MVP Planning" (3 hours) for comprehensive product strategy

Setting It Up Takes 2 Minutes

  1. Head to your Mentor Dashboard
  2. Click to "Edit Subscription Plans"
  3. Click "Create New Plan"
  4. Choose "Custom One-Time Session"
  5. Set your rate, duration, and title
  6. Add a description that sells your expertise

Everything else—payments, scheduling, notifications—works exactly as before.

Why This Matters

This isn't revolutionary. It's just practical. Your time and expertise don't always fit standard boxes, and now they don't have to.

Start experimenting. See what works for your style and your mentees' needs.
